In the first leg, Rubro-Negro had tied with the team from Paraná 2-2 and only needed a draw to advance in the competition.

Flamengo opened the scoring with Matheus Iacovelli in the 31st minute of the first half, who flicked the ball past the goalkeeper after a cross into the box. In the 6th minute of the second half, the ball fell to number 10 Pepê, who fired a powerful shot from the left, extending Flamengo's lead.
