In a match played on Saturday afternoon (24) at CT Edmo Pinheiro, in Goiânia, and valid for the fourth round of the group stage of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo's U-17 team, led by coach Ramon Lima, beat Goiás 1-0 (Petterson), and achieved their third victory in four games in the competition. The positive result gives the Garotos do Ninho second place in group B, with 10 points won. The leader is São Paulo, which has 12. Next Tuesday (27), Mais Querido returns to the field and receives Athletico PR, in Gávea, at 15 pm.

The game

The first half was all Flamengo. Flamengo first threatened in the eighth minute, when Victor Hugo pressured the Goiás team's playoff run, stole the ball, and shot from outside the box. Goalkeeper Cainã made the save. In the 21st minute, Dudu took a chance from the edge of the box, but the ball went wide of Cainã's goal. In the 24th minute, it was Pedrinho who took a free kick from outside the box. The ball went just wide of the Flamengo team's left post.

Flamengo's first-half dominance turned into a goal in the 41st minute. On a quick counterattack, Victor Hugo entered the box and lovingly passed the ball to Petterson, who struck first-time to open the scoring for the Boys of the Nest and score his third goal in the Brazilian Championship. Flamengo wanted more. Still in the first half, in stoppage time, Victor Hugo unleashed a mid-range shot, which Cainã palmed out for a corner. Diego Ritter headed the shot, but the Goiás goalkeeper made another save.

The second half began with the Red-Blacks on the attack. Just six minutes in, Pedrinho exchanged passes with Petterson, burst into the box, and narrowly missed extending the lead for the Mais Querido. From then on, the one who really started to shine was the Red-Black goalkeeper Kauã. Goiás threatened in the 12th minute, with a shot from Samuel that bounced off the right post. In the 19th minute, Gabriel Zói's low shot was superbly saved by Kauã. In the 25th minute, Gabriel Zói again headed dangerously from inside the six-yard box, but it went over Kauã's crossbar. In the 27th minute, after a corner kick, Kauã made a spectacular save to save the Red-Blacks. Following the play, Daniel Nolasco committed a hard foul on the Red-Blacks' goalkeeper and was sent off.

The home team sought an equalizer, but ran into a veritable wall for Flamengo. In the 35th minute, Gustavinho crossed the ball, and Kauã parried it once again. In the final minutes of the game, Flamengo created good chances through Dudu, Richard, and Petterson. On the latter, the Goiás goalkeeper made another spectacular save, preventing Mengão's second goal of the match. But it didn't prevent the home team's defeat. After the final whistle, the 1-0 score guaranteed the Garotos do Ninho's third victory in the first four rounds, and second place in Group B of the Brazilian U-17 Championship, with 10 points.
