In a match played on Wednesday afternoon (06) at CT do Retrô, in Camaragibe (PE), and valid for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil in the category, Flamengo's U-17 team, led by coach Ramon Lima, was gigantic. Despite playing very weakened, falling behind on the scoreboard and still having defender Marcos Paulo sent off in the 26th minute of the second half, the Garotos do Ninho had a lot of race and desire to overcome all difficulties and beat Sport 2-1 (Will and Victor Hugo). The very important victory achieved away from home, and the fourth in four games played so far in the current edition of the Copa do Brasil, gives Mais Querido the advantage of playing for a draw in the second leg, scheduled for next Sunday (10), at 15:30 pm, in Gávea. Whoever passes will face the winner of the group between Atlético MG and Fluminense in the semifinal of the national competition, who play the first leg tonight.

The first half was very even, with few scoring chances until the timeout. The best of the Garotos do Ninho's efforts came in the 21st minute, when Marcos Paulo delivered a beautiful pass to Petterson. He burst into the box and had his shot deflected by the defense. After the timeout, both teams found the net. Sport opened the scoring in the 40th minute with Diego. The very next minute, "Mais Querido" equalized. Will received the ball at the edge of the box, exchanged passes with Pedrinho, and appeared at the penalty spot to score with a first-time shot to level the score.

The "Garotos do Ninho" (The Nest Boys) came back stronger in the second half, pressing from the start in search of the winning goal. And it came ten minutes into the game, when Petterson provided a beautiful pass for Victor Hugo to slot home a first-time shot. Flamengo continued to dominate after the goal, but defender Marcos Paulo was sent off in the 26th minute. With an extra man on the field, Sport imposed pressure in an attempt to equalize. But Mengão was a giant, defended well, maintained its 100% record in the Copa do Brasil, with four wins in four games, and left Recife with a significant advantage for the return leg, next Sunday, in Gávea.
