By Ian Sena - inCelebrate, Nation! After capturing the attention of the entire country last season with the team known as "Geração 2000" (Generation 17), which won the undefeated U-10 State Championship, defeating Vasco 1-XNUMX on aggregate in the finals, with Vinícius Junior, Lincoln, and Wesley as its leading players. Flamengo's youth team once again demonstrated that its excellent work continues to be masterfully executed, and the results are being reaped on the field.
In a match played on Sunday morning (26), the Garotos do Ninho defeated Botafogo again, this time by a score of 2x0 (Vitor Gabriel and Marx Lenin), and deservedly won the state championship for the second time in the category. Kudos to the board and the entire technical committee, led by coach Marcio Torres, who closed a season with a very positive balance, having reached the finals of the Generation Adidas Cup and the Taça BH, the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil and closing the work with the state championship for the second time in the category.

"All the credit goes to the athletes. They're a fantastic team, very dedicated and talented. My role is simply to lead them in the best possible way. We had a positive year, reaching the finals in every competition we competed in, both in Brazil and the United States. There was one small detail missing to secure the title, and I told them during the week that this time it couldn't and wouldn't slip through our fingers. Thank God everything worked out, and we were able to crown this season with the fourth state championship in the club's history," said coach Marcio Torres.
The game
The Boys of the Nest came out to win the match and opened the scoring with their first shot on goal. In the 9th minute, Yuri, Marx, and Wendel formed an excellent triangulation, creating space for Braian, who received the ball on the right wing and crossed to Vitor Gabriel. He headed the ball with his back to score his 15th goal of the competition, tying Yuri for the championship's top scorer and taking the lead at Gávea. The "Mais Querido" continued to be much better on the field, and this time they managed to translate their superiority into goals. In the 16th minute, Yuri passed the ball to Braian, who intelligently rolled the ball to Marx, who struck first-time, leaving goalkeeper André with no chance to save. It was the red-and-black's second goal in the final.
Botafogo only managed to threaten in the 24th minute. Barbosa struck hard, but Victor Hugo, well-positioned, made a confident save. In the 26th minute, after a rebound, the ball fell to Marlon inside the box. Victor Hugo, once again, came out at the right time and made a great save, maintaining the Mais Querido's good lead on the scoreboard. Subsequently, the referee signaled a free kick for Botafogo at the edge of the box. Marlon took the shot into the top corner, and Victor Hugo flew in to perform a miracle, tapping it in, which would have gone into the left corner. The ball hit the crossbar before being cleared by the defense.
In the first minute of the second half, Botafogo took a free kick close to the red-and-black box. Victor Hugo made another great save, and the ball was almost inbounds, when Braian got ahead of the attacker and cleared the danger on the line. The Boys from the Nest threatened again in the 9th minute. Yuri passed to Vitor Gabriel, who fired a left-footed shot over André's goal. In the 12th minute, Victor Hugo again made two important saves: first on a shot from outside the box by Basseto, and then on the rebound, holding the ball firmly as it was about to escape and head towards goal.
The red-and-black fans, who turned out in good numbers in the stands at Gávea, were already celebrating their second championship title when Henrique unleashed a powerful shot that hit the post in the 43rd minute, nearly making it three and sealing Botafogo's fate. In the 45th minute, Wendel fired a shot from the edge of the box, but André made a great save, palming it away for a corner. After that, it was all about celebrating another state championship in the category's history.
"We worked hard all week to win titles. God blessed us all with this achievement, and I can only thank Him. Scoring the winning goal wearing this Sacred Mantle is always different and special, even more so at home. The whole group deserves it, and now we're going to celebrate this achievement," said Marx Lenin.
