Flamengo's U-20 B team, led by coach Luiz Felipe, is 100% in its preseason commitments. After beating Olaria 3-2 and thrashing Bonsucesso 5-0, the Garotos do Ninho defeated Portuguesa on Friday morning (30). With a hat trick from striker André, the Mais Querido won 3-0, gaining even more confidence in preparing for the season that will begin in May.

 

"The main objective of the U-20 B team is to support coach Maurício, who has masterfully led our U-20 A team for several years now. The vast majority of these athletes were born in 2002 and 2003 and fluctuate as they enter the category, and we work together to ensure these young players reach their highest level and are ready for Maurício whenever needed. The training matches are very interesting opportunities to see these athletes on the field, at a very high competitive level, as we aim to face only teams competing in the Campeonato Carioca. And winning is always important, especially when we wear this special Sacred Mantle," said coach Luiz Felipe.

 

An individual standout at the start of the preseason, with four goals and three assists in just two games, striker André also spoke exclusively to the official website:

 

"This is the first time in my career that I've scored three goals in a game. Even though it's a friendly, it's important to give me confidence for the season that's about to begin. I'm a striker, so I always need to be alert and score goals, which always help the team achieve its goals. I've been working very hard, under Professor Luiz Felipe's guidance, to continue improving and contributing even more," concluded André.

Flamengo took the field with Kauã, Arthur, João Victor, Igor França, Marcos Paulo; Igor Jesus, Alencar, Antônio; Carlos Daniel, Leonan, and André. In the second half, João Vitor, Breno, Richard, Lucas Ribeiro, José Valentim, Fábio, and Nabesima came on. The coach is Luiz Felipe.
