Under-20s win third consecutive victory in the Rio Cup
Team led by Zé Ricardo beats Resende 3-1
By Communication - Official Club Website - inFlamengo's U-20 team defeated Resende in the third round of the Taça Rio this Wednesday (13.05). The team, which continues to play with its B squad, won 3-1, continuing its good campaign in the Carioca. This time, coach Zé Ricardo was able to count on Matheus Sávio, Douglas Baggio and Daniel Mueller, who were playing in the professional squad.
Marquinhos opened the scoring in the 24th minute of the first half after receiving a pass from Matheus Sávio. In the second half, Thiago Santos doubled the lead for Flamengo. Resende reduced the deficit in the 30th minute, and, undeterred, Luã scored in the 44th minute, making it 3-1 for Flamengo.
Scorer of the match's second goal, Thiago Santos commented on the team's strong performance at the start of the Rio Cup and the importance of staying grounded. "We started well, unlike the first half of the season, when we didn't have a good start. But now we just have to stay calm and keep moving forward, as there are still many games to play," he stated.
