It was the second debut of the U-20 team this week, and the second debut with a victory. After securing a place in the second round of the Copa do Brasil with a 4-0 win over Ceilândia (DF), the Garotos do Ninho opened the work in the State Championship by defeating Goytacaz 2-1 (Gomes and Luis Gustavo) in a match played on Sunday afternoon (17), in Gávea. In the next round, Mais Querido goes to Conselheiro Galvão to face Madureira next Saturday (23), at 16 pm.

The opening minutes saw Flamengo enjoying plenty of possession, with Goytacaz simply defending, playing tight behind the ball. Even so, the "Garotos do Ninho" (Nest Boys) soon opened the scoring. In the 13th minute, Lucas Gabriel delivered a beautiful pass to Rhyan. Goalkeeper Emannuel made the save, and on the rebound, the Campinas defender knocked the ball out of his hands. A very alert Rhyan fought back, recovered the ball, and passed it to Gomes to open the scoring, scoring his first goal in the U-20 category and the team's first in the State Championship.

The Mais Querido continued to dominate the game and create scoring opportunities. In the 26th minute, Gomes found Vitor Ricardo, who burst into the box and shot, but Emannuel made a good save. Caio then unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, but Victor Hugo made a great save, but he palmed it away for a corner. In the 43rd minute, Luis Gustavo made a good individual play and crossed into the box for Rhyan, who narrowly missed reaching the ball for the second.

The second half started a little more evenly. In the 11th minute, Gomes delivered another beautiful pass through the middle of the defense to Yuri de Oliveira, but the goalkeeper came out on time and cleared the danger. Flamengo extended their lead in the 22nd minute. Wendel took a shot from outside the box, Emannuel rebounded, and Luis Gustavo appeared well-positioned in the box to cross the ball and score Flamengo's second goal of the match. Immediately afterward, Luis Gustavo himself misplaced the pass, and the ball ended up in the back of Victor Hugo's net.

The Most Beloved returned to the attack. In the 31st minute, Ítalo took a corner kick, Wendel got free and headed the ball, forcing a spectacular save from Emannuel. Nothing else of note happened until the final whistle, which secured Flamengo's first three points in the State Championship.
