Ninho Boys win their second consecutive title in the competition
By Thiago Moreira - inTWO-TIME CHAMPION! The Boys from the Nest once again showed their strength and won the OPG Tournament for the second consecutive time, on Saturday afternoon (19). The Red-Black team drew the duel against Vasco 1-1, in São Januário, and, after winning the first match in Gávea 2-1, lifted the trophy in the opponent's field. In the 38th minute of the first half, Yuri César received the ball on the right flank, slowed the play, and waited for Yuri Oliveira to pass quickly before providing a pass that put his teammate in a great position to finish. The number 7 didn't waste the opportunity and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, opening the scoring at São Januário.
In the second half, Vasco launched an attack, needing two goals to take the decision to a penalty shootout. However, Flamengo maintained its strong game plan and continued to attack. In the 29th minute, the home team equalized with a contested ball in the box and a shot that left Hugo Souza with no chance. Until the final whistle, the Red-Blacks played with the result and refused to concede any more goals, finishing the match 1-1 and lifting the OPG Tournament champion trophy.
