It was a thrilling second leg! In the second leg of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship quarterfinals, Flamengo was trailing 3-0 to Fluminense. In the 47th minute of the second half, Gabriel Barros made a solo play, shot from outside the box, and scored the goal that sent the decision to a penalty shootout. Goalkeeper João Fernando then shone, saving a penalty, maintaining his personal average, only to see Cipriano hit the post. Flamengo's shot success rate was 100%. Max, Gabriel Barros, Luan Sales, and Mateuzão calmly took shots, sending Mengão into the Brazilian Championship semifinals. Flamengo remains in contention for its second title and will face Athletico PR in the semifinals.

Flamengo started better, narrowly missing out on opening the scoring with their first shot. In the seventh minute, the ball was passed back and forth until Max crossed perfectly for Thiaguinho, who fired a powerful shot that bounced off goalkeeper Pedro Rangel's crossbar. The Boys from the Nest continued to dominate the game, but Fluminense opened the scoring with a Gabriel Teixeira free kick in the 15th minute. 

In the 31st minute, Wallace shot from the edge of the box, but João Fernando made a good save. Rubro-Negro responded in the 37th minute with a good mid-range shot from Daniel Cabral. The ball went just wide of the Tricolor crossbar. 

The second half started evenly. In an isolated move following a cross into the box in the tenth minute, John Kennedy headed the home team's second goal. Flamengo remained undeterred and went in search of the first goal. In the 19th minute, Luan Sales made a fine individual move and crossed for Guilherme Bala, who shot over the bar. 

Fluminense extended their lead and scored a third goal in the 37th minute, through Wallace. But the Boys from the Nest had the maturity to find the winning goal in the 42nd minute, with a beautiful shot from outside the box by Gabriel Barros, which sent the game to a penalty shootout.

And then, the star of the wall, João Fernando, shone once again. He saved the first Tricolor penalty, from John Kennedy, and saw defender Cipriano hit the post. Flamengo was perfect on every penalty, with Max, Gabriel Barros, Luan Sales, and Mateuzão, winning 4-1 and securing their place in the Brazilian Championship semifinals.
