U-20 draws with Nova Iguaçu in the second round of the OPG Tournament
Teams share the lead in group A with four points

Flamengo's U-20 team drew 1-1 with Nova Iguaçu on Wednesday morning (17), at CT Laranjão, in a match valid for the second round of the first phase of the OPG Tournament. Patrick opened the scoring for Mengão with a bicycle kick and Gustavo equalized the score for the home team.
With the result, Fla and Nova reached four points at the top of group A, while in the other duel in the group Audax and Carapebus, with zero points in the classification, face each other today at 15 pm. The Garotos do Ninho return to the field this Saturday (20) to face Carapebus, in Gávea, at 15 pm, for the last round of the first phase of the OPG Tournament.
The game:
Playing at home, Nova Iguaçu always proves to be a tough team to beat. Just 9 minutes in, Wellington delivered a perfect cross, and Vitor Félix headed wide, but Yago Darub was on the ball. Flamengo responded with Bill. The number 7 received the ball in the box and fired a low shot, which goalkeeper Bruno saved in the corner.
The game was lively and evenly balanced when, in the 25th minute, Patrick scored a stunning goal. After a corner kick from Klebinho, the defender collected the rebound with a bicycle kick and opened the scoring at Laranjão Stadium. Late in the first half, Hugo Moura hit a beautiful shot from outside the box that was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. Nova then threatened with a free kick.
After the break, a lightning strike. In the second minute, Gustavo equalized for the home side. Nael slotted a perfect pass from the right flank, Gustavo controlled it, and took it past Yago Darub. The most important chance of the second half ended up being Nova's equalizer. Both teams created a few chances, but to no avail.
