Flamengo's youth team drew 1-1 with Botafogo in Moça Bonita and was eliminated from the Guanabara Cup in that category. Despite playing well, Flamengo failed to qualify for the final because their opponents were playing for a draw, having finished first in their group in the qualifying round, while Mais Querido finished second.

The match in Moça Bonita had all the makings of a better result for Flamengo, but on an inspired morning, the opposing goalkeeper saved two penalties. The youngsters continue to fight and dream of qualifying for the final of the Campeonato Carioca. To do so, they need to win the Taça Rio.
