In a classic match played on Monday afternoon (16) at Nivaldo Pereira Stadium, in Nova Iguaçu, and valid for the 12th round of the Brazilian Championship in the category, Flamengo's U-20 team, led by coach Mauricio Souza, drew 1-1 (Max) with Vasco. The result keeps the red-black team in sixth place, with 21 points, and within the classification zone for the next phase, in addition to making Mengão's number of unbeaten games in the championship rise to eight. In the next round, Mais Querido hosts Chapecoense, in Gávea. Before, on Wednesday, the Garotos do Ninho face Volta Redonda away from home, in the single match of the Taça Rio semifinal.

Vasco threatened in the fourth minute, with a shot from Arthur. João Fernando made a great save and deflected the ball out for a corner. Flamengo responded in the 12th minute, with a rocket from Max from the edge of the box. The ball hit goalkeeper Fintelman's crossbar and went out over the goal line. Flamengo were the better team on the field and came close again in the 17th minute, again through Max. Fintelman made another save. After so much persistence, Max opened the scoring for the Mais Querido. And it was a special goal. In the 20th minute, the "Boy from the Nest" took a corner kick, the ball went past the goalkeeper and into the back of the Vasco net. An Olympic goal at Nivaldo Pereira!

Flamengo wanted even more in the first half. In the 33rd minute, after a well-constructed play, Daniel Cabral took a conscious shot from the edge of the box. The ball flew just wide of the Vasco goalkeeper's left post, who could only watch. A minute later, Vasco attacked again. João Fernando once again demonstrated his excellent form, making two excellent saves. The first came from a powerful shot by MT. And then, he smothered the rebound at Figueiredo's feet at the perfect time.

After a veritable deluge at halftime, the teams returned for the second half. And the Ninho Boys didn't let the pace drop. In the fourth minute, Max delivered a beautiful pass to Gabriel Barros. He faced his marker, cut inside, and unleashed a left-footed shot. Fintelman made another excellent save, preventing the second goal for the red-and-blacks in the derby. In the 16th minute, Daniel Cabral took a free kick from the edge of the box. Fintelman hit it back into the middle of the box, and Otavio was well-positioned to catch the rebound. The shot was deflected and went out for a corner. Rhyan Paradela then struck first-time, and the ball sailed past Vasco's goal.

Mengão pressed forward and created a great opportunity in the 24th minute. Lázaro received the ball in the box and shot past Fintelman, who made the save. Gabriel Barros unleashed a powerful shot from the rebound, which went over the Vasco goal. In the 38th minute, MT struck hard, and João Fernando made his second great save of the game, keeping Flamengo ahead. Caio Lopes equalized in stoppage time.
