This Wednesday (17), Flamengo's U-20 team will travel to Nova Iguaçu's training center to face the home team in the second round of the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (OPG). Kick-off will begin at 10 am. Flamengo and Nova are tied with three points in the standings, but the Garotos do Ninho have the advantage in goal difference. With just one more round remaining, a simple draw against Laranjão will guarantee the Mais Querido a place in the next phase. 

Coach Marcio Torres named the following players for the match:

The OPG's biggest champion, with nine titles, Mengão debuted in the competition last Saturday (13), in Gávea, with a 4-0 win over Audax. Vitor Gabriel (2x), Bill and Luiz Henrique scored the goals of the match.

Nova Iguaçu also got off to a flying start, albeit away from home. Playing at the Barcelos Municipal Stadium, Laranjão defeated Carapebus 1-0.

Flamengo leads Group A with three points and a goal difference of four. Laranjão is in second place with the same number of points. Carapebus and Audax, both with zero points in the competition, share last place.

The 16 teams are divided into four groups of four teams each. In the first phase, teams play each other within their groups in single matches. The first and second-place teams from each group advance to the next phase. In the second phase, the associations are divided into two groups of four, each playing against each other within their own group in a home-and-away format. From there, the two teams will compete in the final.
