In a match held on Saturday afternoon (10) at Estádio do Vale, in Novo Hamburgo, Flamengo was defeated by Ponte Preta by 2x1 (Matheus Thuler) and ended its participation in the Copa RS Internacional with four defeats in four games. Eliminated from the tournament, the Garotos do Ninho return this Sunday night to Rio de Janeiro, where they will continue their preparations for the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, with its debut scheduled for January 3 at 21:30 pm in Barueri, against Ji-Paraná.

Ponte Preta opened the scoring four minutes into the match, with a Camilo effort from outside the box. In the ninth minute, Flamengo created their first threat. Michael crossed into the box, João Pedro controlled it with his chest, and fired a powerful shot over the bar. The match remained tightly contested between the midfielders, with no scoring chances for either team. In the 38th minute, João Pedro took a chance from outside the box, but the ball went too high. In the 43rd minute, Vinicius Souza headed the ball, which was superbly saved by Guilherme. The rebound was cleared by the defense for a corner. From the second kick, João Pedro had a chance, but his shot went wide. 

The Mais Querido had more possession in the second half, but conceded their second goal in the 18th minute, after a shot from Felippe Cardoso. Undeterred, Flamengo was rewarded with a goal in the 43rd minute, when Ramon delivered a perfect free kick to Matheus Thuler, who rose higher than the defense and headed the ball into the back of the net with style.
