On Wednesday afternoon (10.06), Flamengo's under-20 team faces Coritiba, at ECO Estádio/Janguitão, in the capital of Paraná, for the second round of the Brazilian Championship in the category. The team returns to the field after debuting with a draw against Vitória, last Thursday (04.06). The boys' coach, Zé Ricardo, believes in a good result for the team despite the absence of the defender who won the Guanabara Cup under-20 this year for Rubro-Negro.
"We've lost Léo Duarte, who is in the medical department. But we've trained well this week. We don't have time to think about a draw. It's a competition with few games, and we're going to win," said the coach, who will also be without Matheus Sávio, who is with the professional team, as well as Jajá and Jorge, who are with the Brazilian U-20 team at the U-XNUMX World Cup in New Zealand.
Zé Ricardo has been counting on the quality of his youth squad to compete simultaneously in the Taça Rio and the Brazilian Championship. The club's manager sees this marathon as a positive one, as it motivates the players to work hard to get on the field. "It's good. The team is very motivated to train because everyone is playing. We have the opportunity to rotate players and are looking for new options on the field," he concluded.
