The unfavorable result in a match in which the Garotos do Ninho fought until the final whistle postpones the dream of winning the Copa do Brasil title for another year, with the team now focusing on the fight for a second state championship and preparing for the Brazilian Championship in the second half of the year. This Wednesday (01), the Mais Querido visits Resende with an alternative team, for the sixth round of the Taça Guanabara.

Flamengo opened the scoring four minutes into the match, with their first shot. Bill was fouled on the edge of the box, and Reinier cleverly took the shot into the goalkeeper's corner. The ball deflected off the wall and ended up in the back of Cruzeiro's net. However, the Minas Gerais team equalized shortly after, with a cross-shot from Jadsom. They turned the game around in the 14th minute, with a goal from Vinicius Popó.

In the 20th minute, after a corner kick, the red-and-black defense complained of a foul by Cruzeiro's attack. The referee allowed play to continue, and, taking advantage of a rebound, Éderson scored the third goal for the Minas Gerais team. The "Garotos do Ninho" (The Boys from the Nest) fought back in search of an equalizer. In the 30th minute, Ramon made a good play and crossed for Rodrigo Muniz's header, which deflected off the defense and out for a corner. Two minutes later, Bill's shot was blocked by the defense.

Aware of the importance of a quick goal in the second half, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) went on the attack from the opening seconds, finishing with a shot less than a minute in through Luiz Henrique, who had come on at halftime to replace Vinicius Souza. Goalkeeper Marlon made the save. In the 11th minute, Wendel hit a powerful shot, but it went over the bar. When the Rubro-Negro (Red-Black) tried to press and was the better team, Éderson scored a beautiful goal in the 33rd minute, sending the Celeste team to the Copa do Brasil final.
