U-20s take part in the professional preliminary round
Flamengo's juniors take the field against Friburguense this Wednesday
By Communication - Official Club Website - inFlamengo's next challenge in the U-20 State Championship will be against Friburguense, at Eduardo Guinle Stadium, in the fourth round of the competition. The boys from Mais Querido will take to the field next Wednesday (29.01), at 14:45 pm, and will play the preliminary match of the professional game, also for the Campeonato Carioca, which will be against the same opponent, at 17 pm.
Marcio Torres, interim coach of the juniors, has been reassuring the boys that they will be able to achieve victories again.
"Even without winning, we've been playing well. Against Volta Redonda, we went up 2-0 after 15 minutes. They scored in the second half, we went up 3-1, and at the end of the game they managed to equalize. Against Duque de Caxias, we also played well, we had 22 shots on goal, but that day, the ball just wasn't going in. This makes the boys anxious to score, but I've been giving them a lot of peace of mind," he said.
For the match against Friburguense, Marcio expects a more demanding game, as it is a preliminary match for the professionals, but he has high expectations for a good result.
"The boys know the importance of the game against Friburguense, because they'll be playing at home, in a preliminary match for the professional teams, where there will be fans and the pressure is greater. I've been asking them to do what they know, and that way, the good plays and goals will come naturally. Today (Monday), we did a regenerative training session focused on finishing. Expectations are the best possible for the road to the title," he concluded.
