The Boys of the Nest finished their second appearance in the Conmebol Libertadores U-20 Cup with a victory and with honor. In a match played on Sunday night (01) at the Adrian Jara Stadium in Asunción, Paraguay, the team led by coach Phelipe Leal and his assistant coach Ramon Lima beat Libertad (PAR) 5-2 (Yuri Cesar [2], Gomes, Rodrigo Muniz and Wendel). Thus, Flamengo ends its participation in the Conmebol Libertadores U-20 with three wins, one draw, one loss and an honorable third place. The delegation returns to Rio de Janeiro this Monday, and on Wednesday (04) returns to training at Ninho do Urubu, aiming for the Campeonato Carioca and the Copa do Brasil.

The Mais Querido dominated the first half. In the 16th minute, Yuri Cesar took a free kick, and the ball dangerously went over Paraguayan goalkeeper Ronaldo Lopez's crossbar. In the 21st minute, Matheus França sped to the byline and sent a low cross into the box. The defense cut in and nearly scored an own goal. Yuri Cesar then crossed, but Natan rose higher than the entire defense and headed the ball against the post.

Flamengo was all for it. In the 30th minute, Matheus França hit a cross-shot, the ball deflected and went to the right of Ronaldo Lopez's goal. From a corner kick, the Boys from the Nest finally opened the scoring. Gomes unleashed a bomb from the edge of the box, into the corner, leaving the Paraguayan goalkeeper with no chance, and scored his second goal in the Libertadores. Even with the goal, Flamengo didn't slow down. In the 34th minute, Yuri Cesar stole the ball, burst into the box, and shot, for which Ronaldo Lopez made a great save. Shortly after, Flamengo extended their lead in style. After a rebound from the defense, Rodrigo Muniz fired a first-time shot into the top corner for a tremendous goal. It was his fourth goal in the competition, and fifth of the season. Libertadores reduced the deficit in the 42nd minute, with a goal from Marcelo Fernandes.

The Ninho Boys continued to dominate the game in the second half, and it didn't take long for them to extend their lead, once again with a stunning goal. This time, in the ninth minute, Yuri Cesar fired a shot from the edge of the box into the top corner. Another red-and-black victory on Paraguayan soil.

But Flamengo didn't stop there. In the 22nd minute, Guilherme Bala was awarded a penalty, and today the referee awarded it. Wendel took the shot, the goalkeeper saved it, but Wendel himself grabbed the rebound to score Flamengo's fourth goal of the match. In the 32nd minute, Yuri Cesar won a battle with the opposing defense inside the six-yard box and scored the fifth with a sliding tackle. It was also his fifth goal of the competition, thus taking over Flamengo's top scorer spot in the U-20 Libertadores. Shortly after, Aquino scored a beautiful goal and somewhat reduced the Paraguayan team's deficit.
