Two games, two great victories, sole leadership of Group A, best attack and biggest win of the competition. This is Flamengo's record so far in the U-20 Copa Libertadores. In a match valid for the second round of the group stage and played at the Adrian Jara Stadium in Luque, Paraguay, the Flamengo youth team were unbeatable and thrashed Sporting Cristal (PER) 5-1 (Yuri Cesar {2}, Rodrigo Muniz, Yuri de Oliveira and Gomes). Maintaining their 100% record in the tournament, the Flamengo youth team, led by coach Phelipe Leal and assistant coach Ramon Lima, are very close to qualifying for the Libertadores semi-finals, which could even happen with a defeat against Puerto Cabello (VEN) in the third and final round of the group stage. A draw would guarantee Flamengo the top spot in the group. The game is scheduled for next Friday (21) at 20:15 pm, and once again it will be broadcast live on Flamengo's Facebook page. 

Seeking qualification for the semi-finals, the Flamengo youth team pressed from the opening whistle. Just three minutes in, Rodrigo Muniz attempted his first shot of the match, which went over Patrício Franco's goal. At eleven minutes, the Peruvian team responded and hit the Flamengo crossbar with a shot from Felipe Cruz. At 14 minutes, Yuri Cesar took a free kick from the side, finding Natan's head, who was very well positioned inside the area. The ball went close to the right post of goalkeeper Patrício Franco. 

Flamengo, nicknamed "The Most Beloved," was the better team on the field and began to create scoring opportunities. At 21 minutes, Rodrigo Muniz received the ball at the edge of the area and tried to chip the goalkeeper, but the ball lacked power and was cleared by the defense. At 35 minutes, however, Victor Hugo committed a penalty, received a knee to the face, and had to be substituted by João Fernando. Aryan Velasco converted the penalty, opening the scoring for the Peruvians. With the team playing better and their heads in the game, it didn't take long for Flamengo to equalize. At 39 minutes, Guilherme Bala passed to Yuri Cesar. The striker shot across goal, giving Patrício Franco no chance, and leveled the score.

The Flamengo youth team wanted to turn the game around before halftime. In the 44th minute, Matheus França unleashed a powerful shot, and the ball grazed the crossbar of the Peruvian team, who had a great chance in the 45th minute. Making his debut in the Under-20 category, João Fernando made a great save, saving Flamengo. In a quick counter-attack, in the last play of the first half, Flamengo turned the game around. Rodrigo Muniz made a beautiful through ball to Pablo, who crossed first-time and perfectly for Yuri Cesar. Also first-time, he shot into the corner of the net, past Patrício Franco, who had to retrieve the ball from the back of the net once again.

Right at the start of the second half, Matheus França was brought down inside the penalty area. Rodrigo Muniz took the penalty with great skill, tying with Yuri Cesar for the Libertadores top scorer title. Both have three goals in two matches. At 15 minutes, it became a rout. The Peruvian team played poorly from the back, Yuri de Oliveira cleverly stole the ball to score Flamengo's fourth goal of the match. In great style, Flamengo extended their lead. At 38 minutes, Gomes exchanged passes with Matheus França from the center line and finished first-time, giving the Peruvian goalkeeper no chance. It was Flamengo's fifth goal of the match, completing the biggest win in the U-20 Libertadores so far.
