Before the senior team took the field against Resende in the seventh round of the Campeonato Carioca this Sunday, the under-20 soccer team had already secured its victory. Against the same opponent, in the Guanabara Cup, the juniors won 5-0 at the José Bastos Padilha stadium in Gávea.

The team was reinforced by Matheus Sávio, Cafú and Lucas Paquetá, who scored twice, and also had more goals from Fabrício (2) and Arthur Bonaldo. This was Flamengo's third victory in the first round of the Carioca, a championship in which coach Zé Ricardo has been testing several players in the squad.

The next match for the Taça Guanabara will be on Sunday (6), against Bangu, with no time or location yet defined.
