In a match played on Sunday morning (14) at CEFAT Várzea das Moças, in Niterói, valid for the fourth round of the Taça Guanabara, Flamengo's U-20 team played with great spirit, demonstrated great quality and sought a 1-1 draw (Rodrigo Muniz) in the away classic against Botafogo, despite playing much of the second half with one player less, after defender Habraão was sent off. The result maintains the red-black's unbeaten run in the competition and makes the Garotos do Ninho reach eight points, in second place in Group A. In the next round, Mais Querido hosts América, in Gávea. Before that, however, Flamengo goes to Porto Alegre for the decisive match against Internacional, in search of a place in the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil in the category. In the first leg, Flamengo won 2-0. 

The derby started off very tense, with possession contested in the central area and few scoring chances. The first was Flamengo's. In the tenth minute, Vitor Ricardo took a free kick, and Reinier headed it over goalkeeper Lucas Silva's crossbar. In the 14th minute, after a corner kick, Rhyan battled with the defense inside the box and had his shot blocked. On the rebound, Lucas Freitas unleashed a rocket, which the defense deflected once again. Flamengo began to dominate the game.

The Mais Querido (the most beloved team) continued to be the better team on the field. In the 25th minute, Pablo crossed into the box, the defense made a poor clearance, and Reinier fired a first-time shot, which was well saved by Lucas Silva. In the 28th minute, Flamengo once again pressured the black-and-whites' ball out and forced a mistake again. Christopher hit a powerful shot, but it was too high. Botafogo missed a good chance in the 32nd minute, with Luís Henrique. He received the ball right in front of goal, but Yago Darub rose to the occasion, closing the angle perfectly, and forcing the opposing striker to shoot over the bar. 

Just as in the first half, the Garotos do Ninho started the second half better than their opponents. In the fourth minute, Wendel found Luiz Henrique well positioned at the edge of the box. The shot was clear, but straight at Lucas Silva, who made a confident save. Flamengo was superior on the field, but Botafogo opened the scoring in the 14th minute, with a penalty kick from Rhuan, after a Flamengo error in the clearance that resulted in defender Habraão being sent off.

In the 19th minute, Rhuan received a free kick inside the six-yard box, but Yago Darub made a great save to save the Mais Querido. Even down ten men, the Red-Blacks were still threatening the opposing goal. In the 24th minute, Luis Gustavo crossed and the ball would have found Wendel free to tie the game, but Lucas Silva dove in at the right time and made the save. In the 37th minute, Rodrigo Muniz unleashed a powerful shot, but the Botafogo goalkeeper made another save. 

Despite being outnumbered on the field, Flamengo pressed hard. Cornered, Botafogo simply defended and hoped for the final whistle. All that fighting paid off, and in the 44th minute, Flamengo equalized. Rodrigo Muniz received the ball at the edge of the box, performed beautifully as a pivot, turned around his marker, and fired a deft shot into the bottom right corner, past Lucas Silva, who this time was unable to save Flamengo from conceding an equalizer. The Flamengo's top scorer's 11th goal of the season maintained the Garotos do Ninho's unbeaten run in the Taça Guanabara and further boosted the team's confidence ahead of next Wednesday's decisive clash against Internacional in the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals.
