This Thursday (13.08), at 20 pm, the under-20 soccer team takes the field against Palmeiras for the Brazilian Junior Championship. The match, which takes place in São José dos Campos, is valid for the fourth round of the second phase and will be broadcast live on the ESPN channel.
"Expectations are high, despite the difficulties we know we'll face. With Fluminense's victory, only three points are enough for us to continue fighting for a spot," said coach Zé Ricardo. To advance to the final, the team needs to qualify in first place in the group. Four points behind the leader, Fluminense, who have a game in hand, Flamengo is fighting for victory.
In the third round, Flamengo beat Vasco 1-0 at Los Larios last Wednesday (05.08). After the match against Alviverde, the red-blacks face Tricolor Carioca next Wednesday (19.08), at 15 pm, at Gávea. The final will be played on August 26 and September 2 by the top two teams in each group.
After today's match, the team returns to Rio to concentrate on the final of the Rio Cup, Sunday (16.08) at 11 am, at the Nilton Santos Stadium (Engenhão).
