This Wednesday (June 11.06th), at 15 pm, Flamengo's under-20 boys return to the field against Botafogo, in the second leg of the Taça Rio semifinal. The match will be held at the Alvinegro Athlete Training Center, CEFAT, in Niterói. Coach Marcelo Buarque says the team will enter the field with an attacking stance in search of a spot in the final of the second leg of the Campeonato Carioca; the Rubro-Negro needs the victory, as their opponent won the first leg 1-0.
"I told the guys that we played a first game that was heading for a draw, but Botafogo ended up scoring and had the advantage of losing 1-0 and taking it to penalties. In any case, it wasn't a defeat that would change everything we had in mind, so we'll maintain our stance and go for the win, if possible by more than 1-0, which would guarantee our spot in regulation time," he said.
The red-black commander also guarantees that there is no lack of desire among the athletes and draws attention to the defensive quality of the Alvinegro.
"The boys are extremely motivated and recognize that victory is always our only option. Since we played well in the first leg, I wish us more luck in scoring, since we had chances to score, but the ball didn't go in the first leg. They (Botafogo) have a very good defense, if I'm not mistaken, the one that conceded the fewest goals in the second half. We have to work hard to overcome this defensive aspect of theirs," Marcelo concluded.
If Mais Querido advances to the final, they will face the winner of Fluminense x Madureira.
