In the 16th round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, Flamengo beat Bahia 3-1 on Sunday afternoon (19), in Gávea. The goals for the Garotos do Ninho were scored by André (twice) and Yuri, from a penalty. With the result, Mengão reached its ninth victory in the competition, totaling 30 points. It is worth mentioning that, in the last 22 games, the Mais Querido has only been defeated once.

The game
The Ninho Boys started the match valuing possession and dominating the attacking half. In the seventh minute, Matheus França received the ball in midfield and took a shot. The goalkeeper made a save in the center of the goal. The red-and-black team continued to pressure Bahia in search of the first goal. In the 17th minute, Daniel Cabral took a free kick from the left wing, and the ball went just wide of the post.

Soon after, Mengão opened the scoring at Gávea. Matheus França led a counterattack on the left, entered the box, and passed the ball to the middle. André, one-on-one with the goalkeeper, struck firmly to make it 1-0.

It didn't take long for Mais Querido to extend their lead! In the 32nd minute, Daniel Cabral took a corner kick from the left, and the ball ended up at André's feet, who simply had to tap it into the net, scoring his second goal of the match and tenth of the season: 2-0. Even with two men up front, the Garotos do Ninho didn't give up on the attack and continued to pressure the Bahian team. The first half ended with Flamengo far superior to their opponents.

Early in the second half, Daniel Cabral received the ball at the edge of the box, moved to the right, and fired a shot. Bahia's goalkeeper palmed it away for a corner. With a comfortable lead, the Rubro-Negro began to control the result. In the 33rd minute, Brenno conceded a penalty on Werton. Yuri stepped up to take the kick and slotted it into the corner with skill: 3-0.

Right from the start, Bahia went on the attack and was awarded a penalty. Riquelme converted the penalty into the corner and scored for the Bahian team: 3-1. Superior throughout the match, the Boys from the Nest secured another important victory in the Brazilian Championship.

Next appointment
The U-20s return to the field next Wednesday (22) to face Fluminense, at 15 pm, in Laranjeiras, for the first leg of the final of the Campeonato Carioca in the category.
