In the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil Sub-20, Flamengo took the lead and beat Fluminense-PI 3-1 on Monday afternoon (17), in Gávea. Ryan Luka and Igor Jesus (2) scored the red-black goals in the match. Now, Rubro-Negro can lose by up to one goal to advance to the semifinals.

The game
The Ninho Boys started the match dominating the action and exchanging passes in search of space in the opposing defense. In the 9th minute, Flamengo created a threat for the first time. Werton took a corner kick into the box, and Ryan Luka headed it dangerously.

The red-and-black team relied on plays down the right with Werton, who would run down the field at speed and attempt crosses into the box. In the 20th minute, the number 7 made a good play and crossed into the box. Pedrinho shot, and Gabriel made a great save. It's worth noting that the opposing goalkeeper stood out with excellent saves, preventing Flamengo from opening the scoring.

After much persistence, Mengão scored the first goal in the 43rd minute. Werton made a quick run down the right, got to the byline, and crossed into the box. Ryan Luka, well positioned, calmly finished into the net, giving the Rubro-Negro a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half.

At the start of the second half, Fluminense leveled the score. After a cross into the box, Biloca headed in to tie the match at 1-1. Despite conceding the goal, Fluminense continued to attack, creating opportunities to score a second.

In the 33rd minute, Mengão turned its superiority into a goal. Wesley made a good play down the right, crossed into the box, and Igor Jesus finished into the back of the net: 2-1. In the final minutes, Mengão added a third, again through Igor Jesus. Werton passed to the number 5, who shot from distance. The ball deflected off the ball and fooled the goalkeeper, giving the final score: 3-1.  A good victory for the Ninho Boys at home!

Next appointment
The Garotos do Ninho return to the field next Sunday (23) to face Fluminense-PI again, at 15 pm, at the Lindolfo Monteiro stadium, for the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil Sub-20.
