Without Jorge, who was called up to the national team, as well as Douglas Baggio, Jajá, and Matheus Sávio, who are playing professional football tonight, Flamengo's under-20 team lost 1-0 to Nova Iguaçu in the final round of the Guanabara Cup. The match was a preliminary to the main team's match at the Moacyrzão stadium this Wednesday (08.04). Despite the loss, the boys qualified in first place in the first round, gaining the advantage of playing for two draws in the knockout stage.

The first half was a lukewarm affair, with the score tied at 0-0. In the second half, Flamengo dominated but struggled with their few shots on goal. Nova Iguaçu surged forward in the second half, and Paulinho found the net to give the Baixada Fluminense team the win.

In the semifinals, Rubro-Negro faces Vasco, fourth in the Guanabara Cup. The Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (FFERJ) has not yet determined the date, time, or location for the derby.
