Already qualified for the semifinals of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship since the end of the last round, the Garotos do Ninho took the field to face Fluminense late in the afternoon of this Wednesday (19) at the Giullite Coutinho Stadium, in Mesquita, with many changes in the starting lineup. The unfavorable score of 1x0 maintains the leadership of Group F with Flamengo, and also qualifies Fluminense for the continuation of the national competition, eliminating Vasco and Coritiba. The Mais Querido now awaits the definition of the other group to know its opponent in the semifinals, which will be Corinthians, Palmeiras or Vitória. The knockout stage begins next week, with Flamengo deciding the place in the final at home, regardless of who comes first.

Throughout the first half, the derby was a lukewarm affair, with virtually no scoring chances for either team. Fluminense threatened in the 37th minute with two good runs from Evanilson. On the first, Patrick was alert and cleared the ball in the six-yard box. On the following play, it was Brazil goalkeeper Hugo Souza's turn to make a comfortable save.

In the first minute of the second half, Michael sped to the byline and crossed for Reinier. The number 10 headed the ball over Pedro Paulo's goal. In the 22nd minute, Zé Ricardo opened the scoring for Fluminense with a free kick from the edge of the box. In the 26th minute, Hugo Moura unleashed a long-range shot that was well saved by Pedro Paulo. Coach Márcio Torres used all six substitutions, but they weren't enough to secure the equalizer. Even so, the "Garotos do Ninho" qualified for the semifinals in first place in Group F, with 12 points.
