In a match held this Saturday afternoon (14), in Gávea, Flamengo's Under-20 team was defeated by Olaria 2-0, in the third round of the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (OPG). After the first ten minutes dominating the game, Flamengo's performance dropped considerably towards the end of the first half. In the second half, despite strong pressure, the Mais Querido missed good chances to score – including a penalty – and was unable to avoid defeat. Despite the adverse result, the Garotos do Ninho are qualified for the second phase of the competition, benefiting from Itaboraí's 2-1 victory over Bangu in the other Group B match, and remain in contention for the competition's bicampeonato (two-time championship).

Olaria opened the scoring in the 19th minute of the first half with Michael, who simply rolled the ball into the empty net after a pass from Amorim. The Rubro-Negro almost equalized in the 44th minute when Kleber crossed with the outside of his foot, Vinicius Souza chested the ball down, and Lucas Silva shot powerfully, but the ball went over the goal. In the final play of the first half, Olaria scored their second goal. Capixaba beat the defense, went to the byline, and crossed for Amorim, who shot past Hugo Souza with no chance of making a save. 

Knowing the importance of a victory to guarantee qualification for the second phase without depending on other results, Flamengo went on the attack from the first minute of the second half. Just three minutes in, Kleber made a good individual play, exchanged passes with Lucas Silva and was brought down inside the area. The penalty was taken by Patrick, who had come on for Theo at halftime, but goalkeeper Gabriel jumped to the right side and made the save. At 22 minutes, Loran shot hard from inside the area for another save by Gabriel, the standout player of the game. The scenario repeated itself in the next play. This time it was Bill who shot, and Gabriel made a diving save preventing a goal for Flamengo, who were pressing and had possession of the ball, but couldn't reduce the score. At 42 minutes, Patrick put Bill through on goal, but the shot went over the bar. At 44 minutes, it was Samuel who shot weakly, for another save by Gabriel, who was a true wall in the match and kept the score at 0-0 until the final whistle.

In the next phase, the beloved team will be in Group E, alongside Botafogo, Audax, and Fluminense, against whom they will debut next Saturday, the 21st, away from home. The second phase will be played in home and away matches within the group, and only the first-placed team will advance and qualify directly for the OPG Tournament final against the winner of Group F, which will consist of Tigres, Artul, Portuguesa (RJ), and Olaria.
