The Ninho Boys return to the field next Friday, in a decisive game against Independiente (ARG).

After beating Cruzeiro in the debut of the Copa Ipiranga Internacional by 1x0 (Marx Lenin), the Garotos do Ninho did not repeat the good performance on Wednesday night (05) against São Paulo, especially in the first stage, and were defeated by 3x1 (Bill), in a match valid for the third round (Flamengo's second game) of the competition. Even so, the Mais Querido remains alive in the tournament, and faces Independiente (ARG) next Friday (07) at 18:30 pm, needing the victory to equal Cruzeiro and São Paulo at the top of the group with six points won, and arrive alive in the last round, against Nacional (URU). The Boys from the Nest started the game well, with quick passing in the attacking half and good runs down the flanks of the narrow PUC/RS Stadium pitch, but without creating many scoring chances. Without much brilliance, São Paulo opened the scoring in the 20th minute with Fabinho, who finished inside the box after a Welington cross. They extended their lead shortly after, in the 25th minute, with a Morato header. São Paulo woke up to the game and had their first shot on target with Yuri, who shot from outside the box, in the 26th minute.

Flamengo tried to attack and at least reduce the deficit before halftime. In the 29th minute, Wendel almost got the goal with a shot from just outside the six-yard box, but goalkeeper Thiago Couto smothered it at the right moment, saving the São Paulo team. Just when Flamengo seemed to be on the mend, a cold shower arrived. In the 35th minute, Gabriel Novaes entered the box and passed to Rodrigo Nestor to score the third. In the final play of the first half, Bill outwitted the São Paulo defense, burst into the box at speed, and slotted the ball into the back of the net, reducing the deficit and giving the Mais Querido hope in the game.

Flamengo changed its approach in the second half. In the sixth minute, Yuri took a free kick inside the half-moon area, but the ball went too high. In the 19th minute, Luiz Henrique provided a beautiful pass to Bill, who faced his marker and took a deflected shot. The ball went out for a corner. In the 26th minute, Luiz Henrique hit an unpretentious shot that hit the foot of Thiago Couto's post. The Mais Querido wouldn't give up. In the 37th minute, Yuri shot from outside the box, but the ball deflected off the marker and went out for a corner.

In the final minute of regulation, the Ninho Boys put together a beautiful play, rehearsed by coach Maurício Souza. The Tricolor defense was caught out, and the red-and-blacks narrowly missed a goal. Morato saved it on the goal line. It was the Ninho Boys' last chance of the game.

Flamengo: Yago Darub, Aderlan (Vitinho), Nathan, Patrick, Michael; Henrique (Vitor Ricardo) (Marx Lenin), Matheus Alves, Luiz Henrique; Bill, Yuri and Wendel. Coach: Mauricio Souza.
