Flamengo creates chances, but draws in the head-to-head with Tricolor Suburbano

On Sunday morning (February 22.02), Flamengo's under-20 team drew 1-1 with Madureira in the sixth round of the Campeonato Carioca. With three wins and three draws, Flamengo remains unbeaten in the under-20 Carioca and is in fourth place in the Taça Guanabara. The next challenge will be against Botafogo, the first derby of the year. The match is scheduled for 13:45 pm on Sunday (March 01.03), at Maracanã, in the preliminary round for the professionals, who take the field at 16 pm.

The game
Flamengo faced a tough opponent on a sweltering morning in Conselheiro Galvão. Zé Ricardo's men faced Madureira, third in the standings and undefeated in the competition, with four wins and one draw. The Tricolor Suburbano started better and had a few chances to open the scoring, but couldn't find the net. Before halftime, Matheus Sávio crossed for Trindade, who headed the ball just off the crossbar.
Early in the second half, Douglas Baggio nearly scored with a powerful long-range shot. A minute later, Matheus Sávio arrived well and skillfully chipped the ball over the goalkeeper, but the ball refused to go in. After several attempts, the goal came in the final stretch: Douglas Baggio made a good play and shot, but the goalkeeper saved; from the rebound, Nathan opened the scoring: 1-0. But Madureira responded quickly and equalized in the 44th minute of the second half.
