In a duel valid for the fourth round of the Guanabara U-20 Cup played on Sunday morning (06), the Garotos do Ninho, led by coach Mauricio Souza, overcame Bangu and the very strong and traditional heat of the Moça Bonita Stadium. The great 2-0 victory (Lázaro and Thiaguinho) puts the Rubro-Negro in second place in the competition, with nine points won in four games, and makes the team its second consecutive victory. The first half was almost as lukewarm as the temperature in Bangu. Under intense heat, Flamengo and Bangu produced little offensively, perhaps saving themselves for the second half, and created few scoring chances in 45 minutes of a very tight match. Mais Querido's best opportunity came in the 18th minute, when Lázaro received the ball in the box and fired a powerful shot over the home team's goal.

Mauricio Souza's halftime talk with the group was very productive, and with two changes (Igor Jesus and Pedrinho replaced Daniel Cabral and Yuri de Oliveira, respectively), the team returned much more attacking, creating several scoring chances and putting pressure on the opponent's possession. In the dying minutes of the second half, Mengão extended their lead with a penalty kick from Thiaguinho, which displaced the goalkeeper and sealed the third victory for the red-and-black team in the Taça Guanabara.
