The game was essentially attack versus defense. In the 32nd minute, Yuri took a shot, but Guilherme saved it again, but he palmed it out for a corner. A minute later, Yuri tried again, and Guilherme made the save again. The red-and-black equalizer came in the final play of the first half. After a cross from Luiz Henrique, Rodrigo Muniz headed the ball into the back of the net to level the score.

In the second half, Flamengo managed to translate its technical superiority into goals, easily achieving a rout. The turnaround came in the opening minutes. In the third minute, Gomes exchanged passes with Yuri and skillfully slotted past Guilherme. In the sixth minute, Flamengo extended their lead with a beautiful solo effort by Yuri, who fired a shot into the box, leaving the opposing goalkeeper with no chance. The fourth almost came in the 13th minute, when Yuri took a shot from outside the box, but Guilherme slammed it home. Rodrigo Muniz was well-positioned to pounce on the rebound, but the goalkeeper recovered and made a great save.

In the 26th minute, the game turned into a rout. Wendel made a great individual play down the right wing and delivered a perfect low cross, which Luiz Henrique simply had to tap in for the fourth. The Boys from the Nest relaxed, and the São Paulo team pulled one back shortly after, in the 28th minute, with a beautiful goal from defender Juan Henrique, who sealed another victory for the Boys from the Nest in the Brazilian Championship.
