After debuting in the second round of the Campeonato Carioca with a 3-0 victory over Macaé, Flamengo's under-20 team defeated Barra Mansa 2-0 at the Barbará stadium in the second round of the Taça Rio. The new squad formed by coach Zé Ricardo for the competition is making the most of the opportunity to play, as the Taça Guanabara champions were given a break, with the Brazilian Championship still to come. Flamengo dominated the 90 minutes, opening the scoring in the first half with Dener. In the second half, Thiago Santos found the net and extended the lead for the Most Beloved: 2-0. Flamengo started the field with João Lopes; Rocha, Willyan, Dener and Marquinhos; Hugo (Dantas), Davi Ferrari and Paquetá; Wayne (Luã Lucio), Thiago Santos (Marcos Vinicius) and Felipe Vizeu.

The boys' next commitment will be this Wednesday (13.05), against Resende, at the José Bastos Padilha stadium, at the Gávea social headquarters. 

After coach Zé Ricardo praised the quality of the red-and-black squad, which is allowing him to field a new group in the state championship, the group gained another player. Guilherme, known as Robinho, came from Rio Preto and has a contract until January 2016. The striker was born in 1996.
