Flamengo's U-20 team took to the field on Sunday afternoon (31), in Gávea, to face Cabofriense, in a match valid for the third round of the Guanabara Cup. Just like the U-15 and U-17 categories did on Saturday, coach Maurício Souza's team left the field with a comfortable 2-0 victory (Natan [own goal] and Rhyan), completing the winning streak at the weekend of state youth championships in Gávea. The result gives Rubro-Negro peace of mind in the competition and in preparation for the decisive duel next Thursday (4) against Real Desportivo Ariquemes, in Rondônia, valid for the second leg of the round of 4 of the Copa do Brasil. In the first leg, the Garotos do Ninho won 2-XNUMX.

In the fourth minute, Flamengo had its first chance. Vitor Ricardo received the ball from Rhyan, well-positioned inside the box, but his shot was blocked by the defense. In the seventh minute, Vitor Ricardo made a good individual play and crossed to Yuri de Oliveira. He got ahead of his marker and flicked it on goal, but his shot was also blocked. The Boys from the Nest were posing a threat and putting pressure on their opponents, looking for their first goal of the game.

The Mais Querido played well and dominated the match. In the 16th minute, Wendel passed to Rhyan, who shot a cross-shot. The ball lacked power, but it posed a serious threat, skimming just wide of goalkeeper Vinícius's left post. So much pressure finally paid off in the 21st minute. After Luiz Henrique's free kick in the box, Rubro-Negro defender Nathan couldn't reach the ball, but forward Natan tapped it into his own net, scoring the Mais Querido's first goal of Sunday. 

Cabofriense's first dangerous opportunity before halftime came in the 41st minute. Natan burst into the box and hit a cross, but the defense cleared it at the right moment and cleared it for a corner. In the 43rd minute, Paulo took a long-range shot, and Hugo Souza, making his season debut after playing for the Brazilian national team in the South American Championship, made a confident save. Flamengo extended their lead a minute later. Yuri de Oliveira crossed for Rhyan, who headed it consciously into the corner, leaving Vinícius with no chance of saving.

The second half began, and Flamengo's dominance of the game continued. In the 12th minute, Wendel headed the ball, and Vinícius made a great save, preventing the Garotos do Ninho's third goal. But in the 18th minute, the team from the Lagos Region almost reduced the deficit when Natan's shot hit Hugo Souza's post. In the 28th minute, Vitor Ricardo unleashed a bomb, and Vinícius made another good save. After that, Flamengo simply managed to hold on to their lead and secure three more points in the Guanabara Cup.
