After a 5-2 thrashing of Volta Redonda, the under-20 team from Rio de Janeiro won its fourth consecutive match in the Campeonato Carioca. The 1-0 victory came over Tigres do Brasil at De los Lários Stadium on Sunday afternoon (15.03/XNUMX). The only goal of the match was scored by Cafú.

Without Matheus Sávio, who had served the senior team the previous day, Flamengo secured a first-half victory after a beautiful free kick from Cafú. During the 90 minutes, Jajá, Marquinhos, and Wainy replaced Pedro Pires, Thiago Santos, and Douglas Baggio. Coach Zé Ricardo praised the team and is already focusing on the next round's derby.

"The first half was good, we could have even increased the score. In the second half, it was very hot, and the pace of the game dropped a bit. In the end, Tigres, who are a good team and were competing well in the table, improved their long balls and made it difficult for us. The boys overcame them and had no lack of desire, so we took this good result, which is important for our position in the table (second place before the end of the round). Now we're thinking about Sunday's derby. Playing against a rival at Maracanã is a great motivation for the boys," he said.

Rubro-Negro faces Vasco next Sunday (22.03), at Maracanã Stadium. The match is scheduled for 16:15 pm, in the preliminary round of the professionals' Clássico dos Milhões.
