U-20 wins and returns to the G-4
Boys turn the scoreboard in the match against Bonsucesso; on Wednesday, Fla faces Botafogo
By Communication - Official Club Website - inThis Saturday morning (May 24.05th), Flamengo's juniors returned to the field for the 12th round of the U-20 Rio Cup. Against Bonsucesso, the Rubro-Negro came from behind to win 2-1 at the Nivaldo Pereira stadium. Now, the team is temporarily in third place, back in the semifinals.
Marcelo Buarque's men entered the match with a different formation. Thiago; Zé Luiz, Leo Duarte, Rafael Dumas, and Marquinhos; Léo Henrique, Juan Felipe, and Jajá; Caio Rangel, Douglas Baggio, and Pedro Paulo were the eleven players on the field. The three forwards demonstrated the team's attacking prowess, and within five minutes, Flamengo had already had two shots on target. In the sixth minute, Daniel opened the scoring for Bonsucesso, but before halftime, Caio Rangel leveled the score for the Red-Blacks. Buoyed by the equalizer, the youngsters came back strong in the second half, with Quiroga and Thiago Santos replacing Zé Luis and Pedro Paulo. The comeback came with a goal scored by defender Rafael Dumas.
The team returns to the field next Wednesday (28.05), at 15:30 pm, against Botafogo, again at the Nivaldo Pereira stadium. With a victory in the classic, the boys can gain morale and another three points to stay at the top of the table, two rounds before the end of the second half of the State Championship.
