In a match held on the hot morning of this Saturday (17) at Laranjão, in Nova Iguaçu, Flamengo's U-20 team won a difficult match against Nova Iguaçu with a comeback by 2x1 (Vitor Gabriel and Lucas Silva), in a duel valid for the fifth round of the Guanabara Cup. The important victory returns the leadership of Group A of the Guanabara Cup to the Garotos do Ninho, who now have 12 points won in the direct fight with Vasco and Nova Iguaçu itself for classification to the semifinals of the first round of the State Championship of the category. In the next round, Mais Querido travels to face Cabofriense, in a match scheduled for next Wednesday (20), at 16 pm, at the Alair Corrêa Stadium.

The game was very even, and the teams seemed to still be studying each other when, in the 12th minute, Nova Iguaçu opened the scoring with Wellington, a low shot from the edge of the box that Yago couldn't save. The goal woke up Nova Iguaçu. In the 13th minute, Hugo Moura took a chance from outside the box, but João Victor made a good save. From a corner kick, Patrick Souza rose higher than the defense and headed the ball against the crossbar. Pepê then controlled the ball with his chest and shot first time, but João Victor made another great save. The "Garotos do Ninho" (The Nest Boys) were hungry for a goal, looking for an equalizer. 

The equalizer came in the 22nd minute. Yago passed to Lucas Silva, who blocked the ball well with his body and swept it past Theo. He crossed to Vitor Gabriel, who exchanged passes with Brayan and fired a cross to level the score. In the 31st minute, Pepê crossed, Lucas Silva headed in, and Vitor Gabriel nearly scored his second goal of the game, but the ball capriciously hit the foot of Iguaçuana's left post. 

Nova Iguaçu had the first chance of the second half. Vitor Felix received the ball unmarked inside the box and tried to lob Yago, but the Flamengo goalkeeper towered over the striker and saved the Mais Querido. In the seventh minute, Flamengo came close and nearly took the lead. Braian delivered a beautiful pass to Vitor Gabriel. The center forward controlled the ball with style on his chest and fired a shot, but the ball went wide of the Nova Iguaçu goal. In the eighth minute, Bill left Lucas Silva face-to-face with the goal. The shot was accurate, over the goalkeeper, but the ball hit the crossbar. The Garotos do Ninho were the better team and pressed forward in search of the winning goal. 

In the 12th minute, Braian launched a near-deadly counterattack. Lucas Silva drove the ball forward at lightning speed and played a sweet ball to Bill. But the striker got a bit tangled up while trying to dribble past goalkeeper João Victor and missed an excellent opportunity. In his first attempt of the match, Yuri was brought down at the edge of the box in the 37th minute. He took the free kick himself, but João Victor saved it well. 

The deserved turnaround came only late in the game, in the 42nd minute. Theo delivered a beautiful chip that surprised the entire opposing defense and found Lucas Silva unmarked. This time, the ball over the goalkeeper was perfectly timed, and the ball landed in the back of the net, sending the red-and-black fans, who turned out in great numbers at the Laranjão stadium and supported the team from start to finish, into a frenzy. There was still time for Wendel to almost add a third, but his shot went over the Baixada Fluminense team's goal.
