In a match played at SESC Alterosas, in Belo Horizonte, on Thursday afternoon (01), Mengão's U-20 team came from behind to beat Atlético MG 2-1, with two great goals from André and Yuri de Oliveira. Despite playing with many absences (Matheus Cunha, Max, Ryan Luka and Werton are on loan to the professional team, and Otávio served a suspension), the Garotos do Ninho were superior in the 90-minute summary, and left the field with another important victory in the championship, in their first game away from home. Next Sunday (04), Mais Querido returns to play away from Rio de Janeiro, and visits Atlético GO, in Goiânia, at 15 pm. ElevenSports will broadcast live.

The game

While the teams were still scrutinizing each other on the field, Atlético opened the scoring in the seventh minute, with a shot from the edge of the box by Thiago Juan. In the 27th minute, Thiago Juan shot again, but the red-and-black goalkeeper Bruno made a great save with his feet, deflecting the ball out for a corner. Two minutes later, Júlio Cesar shot, and Bruno reached the top corner, making a spectacular save.

When Flamengo attacked, it was to tie the game. In the 30th minute, Ramon delivered a beautiful pass to André. The striker displayed tremendous skill and composure to chip the ball past goalkeeper Gabriel Delfim and score a stunning goal. The Boys from the Nest went on the comeback and nearly scored a second in the 34th minute, with a dangerous shot from outside the box by Ramon. The ball went wide of the Minas Gerais goal.

The comeback came soon after, with another stunning goal. In the 38th minute, Yuri de Oliveira fired a first-time shot from the edge of the box into the top corner of Gabriel Delfim's net. In the 40th minute, Yuri de Oliveira nearly scored an identical goal. This time, the ball capriciously hit the crossbar. The Mais Querido (Most Beloved) went into halftime winning the game, and in grand style.

The second half started with a bang. Just two minutes in, André fired a first-time shot to Gabriel Delfim's left. Atlético responded with a shot from Julio Cesar. Well-placed, Bruno palmed it away and cleared the danger. In the 28th minute, Atlético MG arrived at full speed with Thiago Juan. Once again, Bruno closed the corner and made a great save. Atlético returned to the attack and almost extended their lead in the 38th minute, with the first touch of Pedrinho, who had just come on. He fired a shot, but the Atlético goalkeeper made a great save on the last scoring chance of the game. Mengão continues with a 100% record in the Brazilian U-20 Championship!

Flamengo: Bruno, Wesley, Noga, Cleiton, Ramon; Igor Jesus (Peralta), Daniel Cabral, Lázaro (Pedro Arthur); Yuri de Oliveira (Gabriel Barros), Thiaguinho (Pedrinho) and André (Weverton). Coach: Luiz Felipe.
