Flamengo's U-20 team, led by multi-champion coach Mauricio Souza, continues to rise in the Brazilian Championship in the category. In a match played this Sunday afternoon (08), in Gávea, the Garotos do Ninho beat Ceará 2-0 (Gabriel Barros and Lázaro), reached the excellent mark of six consecutive victories in the competition and took third place in the classification table, with 20 points (leader Corinthians has 25). With high morale and growing with each round in the championship, the Mais Querido will have a full week to prepare for next Monday's (16) classic against Vasco, in São Januário, at 17 pm. Flamengo went in search of their sixth consecutive Brasileirão victory from the start, and just three minutes into the game, they narrowly missed opening the scoring. Gabriel Barros received the ball behind the defense, advanced at speed to the edge of the box, and struck a beautiful shot. The ball bounced off the crossbar of Ceará goalkeeper Mateus Eduardo, who managed to flick it on, preventing Flamengo's first goal of the match. 

In the second most dangerous attack, the ball went in. After a corner kick, Gabriel Noga rose to the third floor and headed the ball toward goal. Mateus Eduardo made a great save, but Gabriel Barros appeared well positioned inside the six-yard box to collect the rebound and tap it into the back of the net, scoring his second goal with the Sacred Mantle.

The Ninho Boys wanted more, completely dominating the game, and relentlessly attacking. In the 16th minute, Daniel Cabral took a shot from outside the box, but the ball went just wide of the Ceará goal. In the 28th minute, Gabriel Barros tried again, in a play very similar to the one from earlier in the game. Mateus Eduardo flew and made a great save, palming the ball away for a corner. In the 35th minute, Daniel Cabral struck a first-time shot, which the defense cleared, in the last dangerous play before halftime.

Early in the second half, Flamengo extended their lead. In a quick attacking move in the third minute, Ramon received the ball on the left wing and crossed to Lázaro, who headed it past the Ceará goalkeeper. It was Lázaro's fourth goal in the Brazilian Championship. Flamengo continued to attack and nearly added a third in the 28th minute, with Gabriel Noga finishing off another excellent cross from Ramon. In the 37th minute, in Flamengo's last chance of the match, Pedro Franco fired over the bar.
