In a lively classic played on Thursday night (25) at the Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, in Volta Redonda, Flamengo's U-20 team, led by coach Mauricio Souza, beat Vasco once again this season, this time with a 2-1 comeback (Yuri and Vinicius Souza), reaching 17 points and returning to the isolated leadership of the Brazilian Championship in the category, after seven rounds. Undefeated in the competition, with a great campaign of five wins and two draws, the Garotos do Ninho return to the field next Wednesday, when they face Botafogo, at CEFAT, at 15 pm. Before, on Saturday (27), Mais Querido visits Nova Iguaçu away from home, for the Taça Rio.

Vasco created the first chance in the eighth minute, thanks to a solo play by Pec. Hugo Souza was alert and made the save without conceding a rebound. In the 16th minute, Vasco opened the scoring with a goal by Lucas Santos. Flamengo went on the attack and equalized in the 35th minute. Vitor Gabriel launched a quick counterattack and was brought down in the box. Yuri struck with his usual quality, leveling the score in Volta Redonda.

In the 38th minute, Luiz Henrique crossed into the box, Vitor Gabriel chested it down, and Wendel struck first time, but his shot was blocked by the Vasco defense. In the last chance for the red-and-blacks in the first half, Wendel headed in a corner kick, but goalkeeper Alexander made the save in the final play before halftime.

The second half started evenly. In the 11th minute, the referee awarded a penalty against Flamengo. Lucas Santos stepped up to take the penalty, but Hugo Souza repeated his performance in the Guanabara Cup final at São Januário Stadium, making another penalty save against his rival. And the Mais Querido's comeback came shortly after. Vitor Gabriel charged forward and was fouled hard on the edge of the box. Luiz Henrique curled the ball perfectly onto the head of Vinicius Souza, who rose to the third floor and headed it into the net, leaving Alexander with no chance.

A minute later, Wendel left Miranda on the ground and unleashed a bomb, slamming paint on the opponent's crossbar. Flamengo continued to dominate the field and nearly scored a third in the 37th minute when Rodrigo Muniz, who had just come on, controlled the ball with his chest and fired a beautiful shot into the net from the outside. In the final play of the match, Luiz Henrique nearly scored a memorable goal from midfield. But Alexander managed to get back in time and prevented the Garoto do Ninho's goal, but that didn't prevent Flamengo's third victory over their rival this season. Flamengo is the undisputed leader of the Brasileirão U-20 and remains undefeated in the competition.
