After debuting with victories in the Guanabara Cup (2x1 over Goytacaz) and in the Copa do Brasil (4x0 over Ceilândia), Flamengo's U-20 team returns to the field this Saturday afternoon (23) to face the dangerous Madureira at the traditional stadium on Rua Conselheiro Galvão, in the suburbs of Rio. The duel, valid for the second round of the first round of the State Championship, takes place at 16 pm, and will be broadcast live on TV Ferj.

The rare opportunity of a full week of training was very well used, with all the preparation for the match against Madureira taking place in Gávea. Personified and even more confident after the two victories achieved last week, the squad begins an important week, with three games scheduled, including the first leg of the round of 28 of the Copa do Brasil against Real Desportivo Ariquemes (RO), next Thursday (31), in Volta Redonda, and the match against Cabofriense, for the State Championship, scheduled for Sunday (XNUMX), in Gávea.

"Not only the two victories, but everyone's performance on and off the field was also crucial in boosting the entire group's confidence for the challenges ahead. We're aware that the game against Madureira will be very difficult, on a small field where winning is never easy. But to be able to pursue all the titles we want, we need to face and overcome the difficulties, and we're focused on getting three more points," said midfielder Luiz Henrique.

Having just turned 20 and being one of the most experienced players in the current squad, the "Garoto do Ninho" (The Nest Boy), who is in his final season as an athlete for Flamengo's U-20 team, says he is calm and confident about having a great year and winning even more titles with the Manto Sagrado.

"I feel very calm and confident. I will continue working hard to achieve the best within the club and fulfill all my dreams. We have a very young group, and I try to pass on my experience to the younger players in every conversation and training session. I expect our team to become even stronger, in every context. I'm certain that if we put into practice on the field everything we do daily in training, we will have a great 2019," concluded Luiz Henrique.
