In a match played on Thursday afternoon (11), in Gávea, Flamengo's U-20, led by coach Mauricio Souza, played with an alternative team, since the starters played yesterday in Salvador and drew 0-0 with Vitória, for the Brazilian Championship. Even so, the Mais Querido performed well on the field, defeated Audax again, this time 3-2 (Rodrigo Muniz [2] and Matheus Alves), and comfortably secured a place in the quarterfinal stage of the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament. The next opponent for Flamengo in the competition will be Volta Redonda.

Even with a clear advantage in their favor, Flamengo entered the field wanting another victory in the tournament. The Boys of the Nest equalized in the 12th minute of the second half, with a beautiful header from Matheus Alves, following a perfect cross from Pablo. The comeback almost came in the 17th minute. Matheus Alves passed to Rodrigo Muniz, who dribbled past the goalkeeper but shot wide of the net. In the 26th minute, there was no way out. Habraão struck forward, Rodrigo Muniz controlled it with skill, outmaneuvered his marker with physical imposition, and finished with excellent quality to score the Mais Querido's second goal of the game.

The third came soon after. In the 29th minute, Wendel challenged the defense and rolled the ball into the middle of the box. Once again, Rodrigo Muniz struck first-time, scoring his 18th goal of the season, further cementing his place as the top scorer in the category in 2019. In the 36th minute, Argentino pulled one back for Audax with a beautiful shot from outside the box that left Pedro Caracoci with no chance, sealing another victory for the red-and-blacks in the tournament and sealing their place in the next round.
