Flamengo excels at home, and they've become accustomed to winning titles early on! With a perfect record of nine wins in nine games, scoring an impressive 68 goals and conceding just eight, the Under-9 team, Os Garotos do Ninho, easily crowned champions of the Go Cup, a traditional international competition held this year in Aparecida de Goiânia. 

In the first phase, the overwhelming red-and-black attack showcased its arsenal and distributed a truckload of goals to its opponents. In its debut, still settling into the tournament and adapting to the city, the Mais Querido thrashed CFA Fla Goiânia 5-0. Four more routs followed to close out the group stage: 5-1 against Clube Jaó, 11-1 against ASH Dois Toques, 11-0 against Fair Play, and another 11-0 against St. Germain.

Then came the knockout round. And the Ninho Boys continued to crush their opponents. In the round of 16, they defeated ASJ Rondônia 8-0. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Euro Barcelona 9-1. In the semifinals, they defeated Escolinha do Boca Juniors 5-3.

Thus, the Mais Querido arrived with high morale for the most difficult match, the one that would be worth the title of the competition: the national derby against Grêmio. In a very tough match, Flamengo opened the scoring, saw their opponent close the gap twice, but, showing great determination and a will to win—concepts acquired early on by the Boys of the Nest—the Rubro-Negro managed to hold off Grêmio's momentum and secured the unprecedented title. Willian, who scored twice in the final, and Lucca Tasch were the team's top scorers, with 11 goals each. Nicolas also left his mark in the final. 

Like the younger boys, the U-12 team also had an exemplary campaign in the Go Cup, but due to a quirk of football, they saw the well-deserved title slip away by a hair's breadth. The Garotos do Ninho's five group stage matches ended in resounding routs: 17-0 over Saintfoot (Japan), 11-1 over Saint Germain, 20-1 over Aparecidense Semel, 19-0 over OGN + Ação, and 8-0 over Cardim Minas BSB.

In the opening round of the knockout stage, they won a narrow 2-1 victory against Esplanada Society. In the round of 16, they faced Aliança Lima (PER), a South American duel against Peruvian side Alianza Lima, and the red-and-black team won 4-1. Their quarterfinal opponent was Real Sinop, and the Garotos do Ninho won again, this time by the iconic score of 7-1. In the semifinal, against Cruzeiro, the 5-2 victory gave the red-and-black team even more confidence for the grand final that lay ahead.

The final was also against Grêmio, and it was equally thrilling. After a scoreless first half, the Gauchos opened the scoring early in the second half. David turned the game around for Flamengo, but the equalizer came late in the match. The penalty shootout even started well for the "Garotos do Ninho" (The Boys of the Nest), as goalkeeper Miguel saved Grêmio's first penalty. But the sequence wasn't the best, with the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) missing two penalties and losing 3-2. As consolation, Flamengo striker David received the trophy for the competition's top scorer, with 25 goals.
