Having a son defending Flamengo's colors is already a source of great pride. But Solange and Julio feel this feeling even more so. They are the parents of Anderson and Alex, twin brothers and full-backs for the club's youth team. Since they were 10 years old, they have both played for the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved), and with each passing season, they feel closer to realizing their childhood dream: reaching the professional level.

On Sunday afternoon, the duo made their debut for the red-and-black team in the 41st edition of the São Paulo Junior Cup and performed well, helping the team defeat Shallon (RO) 3-0 in Taubaté. For Alex, who earned a starting spot with Rafael Galhardo's call-up to the Brazilian U-20 national team, the opportunity to shine in the Copinha is unique, and the player hopes to continue making the most of his opportunities under coach Armênio Moura.

"Starting with a win is always good. We could have scored more goals, but the team played well and that's what matters. The strength of this team is the group and I hope we continue like this, with the same drive, because what we want is the title," said the right-back.

Doing well in the Copinha is a crucial feat for the duo. Despite their youth, the full-backs, just 17, already dream of walking into a packed Maracanã stadium and having their names chanted by the red-and-black fans. A good example of brothers, twins, full-backs who have achieved success in their careers comes from rival Fluminense, where Fabio and Rafael, now playing for Manchester United in England, were developed.

"They are a good example, yes. We've also been on the national team, we're part of a great club, and who knows, maybe we'll be able to follow their path. But first, I want to fulfill my dream of playing for the professional team at the Maracanã," says Alex.

Playing alongside his brother is a great experience for Anderson. The two already know each other, having played together since 2002, won the 2007 Campeonato Carioca Infantil over rivals Vasco, and have even played for the Brazilian youth teams.

"It's great to play with my brother. We have a really good relationship, and on the field we also know each other really well. We already know how each other likes to play, where to pass, and that makes things a lot easier," explained the number 6.

Alex, meanwhile, reveals that his family is thrilled to see the duo's success. Flamengo's number 2 for the youth team doesn't hide his pride in bringing joy to his family.

"The family is certainly very happy, and in whatever way possible, I hope to help everyone and continue to bring a lot of joy, not only to them but to all the red-black fans," he concluded.
