The under-20 team for the Brasileirão already has a base formed
The competition starts next Monday and Flamengo will be looking for an unprecedented title in the tournament.
By From the official website team - inFlamengo's under-20 team is practically set to debut in the Brazilian Championship in the category, next Monday (06.12), in Rio Grande do Sul. Coach Paulo Henrique will have at his disposal a mix of players who have been standing out in the junior team, with some who have had opportunities in the professional team and others recently promoted from the state champion youth team.
Among those already known to the red-black fans are defender Marlon, signed from Bangu last season and who quickly earned his place in the under-20 team, having even trained with the professionals on some occasions, as well as attacking midfielder Negueba, who even became a starter under coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo.
Among the youngsters already on the junior team are goalkeeper Cesar and defensive midfielders Luiz Antônio and João Vitor. In addition to the recently promoted Jorginho, Elvis, and Thomas, one of the top scorers on this year's U-17 championship team, left-back Jorbison, another former senior player, is also on the roster.
Therefore, Flamengo's starting lineup for the competition should be Cesar, Alex, Marlon, Mateus, and Jorbison; Jorginho, Luiz Antônio, João Vitor, and Elvis; Negueba and Thomas. Flamengo is in Group A of the competition, along with Palmeiras, Atlético-MG, Guarani, and Atlético-GO. The opening match will be against the team from Campinas, at 15:30 pm next Monday.
