This weekend, two youth teams from the red-and-black soccer academy debuted in the Taça Rio, the second phase of the Campeonato Carioca. The under-15 and under-17 teams took to the Gávea pitch to face Nova Iguaçu and had mixed results.

After competing in the championship final, the U-15 team won 2-1. The Rio de Janeiro state championship's top scorer, Lincoln, scored both goals. The U-17 team, fresh from the BH Cup, lost to the same opponent 3-0.

The two teams return to the field next Saturday (08.08), against Boavista, at Clube da Aeronáutica. The younger team plays at 9 am, while the under-17 boys play right after, at 11 am.
