Wednesday promises to be a thrilling day for the Mais Querido youth team. Spread across Brazil, the Garotos do Ninho (Under-20, Under-16, and Under-15) will be tasked with representing Mengão in the Brazilian Championship, the Guilherme Embry Tournament, and the Guanabara Cup. 

Flamengo takes the field at 9 a.m. with its under-16 team, which faces Boavista in Gávea, in the penultimate round of the Guanabara Cup. The reigning champions of the July 2nd Cup, the under-15 team faces the Juazeiro team for the fourth match of the group stage of the competition, at 14 p.m., at Pituaçú Stadium in Salvador. To close out the day for the Red-Black team, it's time for the U-20 team's debut in the Brazilian Championship. At 15 p.m., the "Most Beloved" takes on Atlético-PR at Francisco Muraro Stadium in Curitiba.

After lifting the Copinha, Taça Guanabara, Campeonato Carioca and Trofeo Dossena trophies, it is now time for the under-20 team to turn their attention to the Campeonato Brasileiro. 

In addition to impressive achievements in the first half of the year, Flamengo recently appointed coach Márcio Torres, responsible for leading the team to the Carioca and Trofeo Dossena titles. Having been with the club for eight years, the coach says he is very proud of the opportunity to manage Flamengo's under-20 team and is already dreaming of a double with the senior team in winning the Brazilian Championship.

"My first challenge as a full-time coach is a huge goal for the club. In the last two years, we've advanced to the first round. The professional team has been chasing the national title, and who knows, maybe this year we can do a double: the U-20 and professional teams become Brazilian champions."

The reigning champion of the Guilherme Embry Tournament, the state championship for the category, Flamengo's under-16 team remains strong in the fight for the title in the first round of the competition. Flamengo is coming off a loss to Botafogo and saw the black and white team open up a 3-point lead. A victory this Wednesday against Boavista could see Flamengo return to the championship lead, provided the team from General Severiano fails to beat Barra da Tijuca on Thursday.

The U-2 team, champions of the last edition of the Copa 15 de Julho, have already won three matches and remain top of Group A with nine points. This Wednesday, the Garotos do Ninho face Juazeiro and could secure their place in the round of 3.
