Professional soccer and the U-17 team had already won championships. This Sunday (December 1st), at the Kleber Andrade Stadium in Cariacica, it was the turn of the Garotos do Ninho U-20 team to be crowned Brazilian champions. For the first time in history, the same club has won the national championship in all three major soccer categories in the same season. And the red-and-black team's victory was in grand style. After a 1-0 defeat in the first leg played last Thursday in São Paulo, the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) cruised through the field this Sunday, defeating Palmeiras by a resounding 3-0 (Yuri Cesar, Wendel, and Guilherme Bala) and securing another title.

In addition, the club's youth soccer team reached its 21st title in 2019, equaling the club's most successful year overall. The record could be broken as early as next Thursday at the Maracanã. At 16:30 pm, the U-17 team hosts Palmeiras in the second leg of the Super Cup final, needing to win by at least two goals to take the decision to penalties and celebrate alongside the nation another historic milestone achieved in 2019.

The game

Flamengo needed a win at any cost and went on the attack from the start. The first chance came in the ninth minute, when Gomes's cross-shot frightened goalkeeper Magrão. Soon after, Yuri Cesar pressured Palmeiras's attacking play, stole the ball, and crossed to Vitor Gabriel, who arrived a second too late. The pressure was intense. In the 25th minute, Matheus França controlled the ball and unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box. Magrão palmed it away for a corner.

In the 29th minute, the red-and-black team's superiority turned into a goal. Yuri Cesar played a one-two with Wendel and took a shot from outside the box. The ball, already headed toward goal, deflected off the defense and ended up in the back of the São Paulo team's net. The Boys from the Nest leveled the score and went on to claim another Brazilian title this season.

The Mais Querido continued to be the better team and went in search of a second. In the 41st minute, Yuri Cesar exchanged passes with Luiz Henrique and fired a cross-shot. The ball crossed the entire Palmeiras goal and went out of bounds. In the final play before halftime, Yuri Cesar received the ball at the penalty spot and fired a first-time shot over the Palmeiras goal.

And in the first play of the second half, the Ninho Boys showed that the pressure would remain the same as before. Ramon broke through his marker and struck a powerful shot from the edge of the box. The ball grazed Magrão's crossbar. Ten minutes in, defender Natan headed the ball, which grazed the right post. Flamengo were the much better team, and they scored their second goal in the 24th minute when Ramon was brought down inside the box. Wendel skillfully converted the penalty into the top corner, doubling the lead.

In stoppage time, Guilherme Bala struck a low shot that Magrão couldn't save, giving the final score to the game and securing the 21st title for the red-black youth football team in 2019, equaling the highest number of titles in history.
