Flamengo's standouts in the first phase of the Brasileirão Sub-18, Ana Portugal and Tuane were called up by coach Jonas Urias for the first phase of preparation of the Sub-20 team for the South American tournament in the category, between February 15th and 24th, at Granja Comary.

The left-back joined Flamengo through the club's first tryouts in 2019. A native of Miguel Pereira, she's only 17 years old and stands out for her ability to get forward easily. She already has two assists in the national competition and also boasts excellent defensive skills. She's been a key player in the team's successful campaign. Upon receiving the news in Sorocaba, Ana immediately remembered her mother and was brought to tears.

"The feeling was surreal. I had just woken up and Ju Lopes arrived and said, 'Ana, you've been called up.' I couldn't believe it; I thought it was a lie, and my eyes filled with tears. I immediately called my mother, stuttering. I'm still in shock, but happy. I hope this is the first of many, and I'll work towards that. My effort was recognized, and I want to stay focused on my goals," she commented.

A top scorer with four goals in the Brazilian Championship, the forward previously wore the "Amarelinha" (Yellow) in 2020. During that time, she also participated in a training camp for the South American Championship. Known for her opportunism, the number 9 was promoted to the Mais Querido's first team last year, took the field against Audax-SP, and didn't waste her chance. Considered a great prospect, Tuane expressed her gratitude.

"I'm thrilled with this call-up. My focus right now is Flamengo, but when I get there, I'll fight hard. Every time I step onto the field, I think about my family. I'm really motivated when I think of them and know they're all happy. I want to take this opportunity to thank my teammates. Without them, none of this would be possible," she said, deeply moved.
