Mengão athletes are called up to the Brazilian Under-15 team
Duda Detori, Letícia Pinho, Kauane and Nicolly Manuel are on the training period list; Physical trainer Carla Índia is also called

The Mais Querido women's soccer team continues to reap the rewards of the work carried out with the youngest girls in the U-20 squad. This Thursday (17), the CBF announced the first call-up for the U-15 team in 2025 and four Flamengo players are on the list: midfielders Duda Detori and Letícia Pinho, goalkeeper Kauane and forward Nicolly Manuel. They will report to Bragaça Paulista on July 19 and begin the training period.
In addition to them, Carla Índia, the youth team's physical trainer and former player, was also called up. The news was announced by the main team's coach, Rosana Augusto, and Fabi Simões – two leading figures in the sport in Brazil. The moment was filled with hugs, emotion, and affection from the entire group for the players.
Last season's Brazilian U-20 champion, Mengão is the clear leader in Group A this season. It has athletes trained at the club and is part of the professional squad, investing in social projects and development. The red-and-black heritage is a key element throughout the project.
Duda Detori: futsal product and talented
In October 2023, Duda Detori joined the Social Projects Team – now called Monitoring. Coming from futsal, she quickly stood out for her quick touches, easy decision-making, and maturity. Her strong performance in internal tournaments and training sessions led her to the U-20 team in 2024.
The attacking midfielder made her debut in September against Serrano in the Carioca championship, scoring a goal straight away. She won the championship and continued to work hard. A favorite of the older players, she's skilled and intelligent, has improved in several aspects of her game thanks to her training routine, and is thrilled with her current form.
"I was speechless when I heard my name, because I had no idea. I was next to Pinho, and we hugged and cried. Being called up to the national team is every athlete's dream, so I'm going to seize and make the most of this opportunity."
Letícia Pinho: the cerebral one
Like Detori, Letícia took her first steps in futsal and moved to the field last year, when she joined Flamengo. Intelligent, intense, and possessing a powerful shot, it didn't take long for her to earn a place in the U-20 squad and be included in the squad.
She also made her debut for Manto against Serrano and made her mark twice. A member of the Rio de Janeiro title squad, the attacking midfielder kicked off 2025 by playing a few Copa Rio matches and recently shone against Mixto-MT in the Brasileirão. Considered a great prospect, the youngster opened her heart in celebration of the achievement.
"It's an incredible feeling and something I've wanted for a long time. I always looked at the call-ups for other categories, wondering what it would be like when I arrived. I'm very happy for the opportunity to represent not only Brazil, but also my club. This is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication. I just have to thank my family and Flamengo."
Kauane: rookie goalkeeper with great projection
Born in 2011, Kauane is another player who's moved from the court to the field. Announced by Flamengo in June 2024—after being scouted in several championships in Rio de Janeiro—she's already been called up to the national team once and impresses with her resilience, drive, and composure.
A goalkeeper with good ball control, she has improved significantly with training with coach Allan Arroio. She has already gained experience this season and is fully aware of what she needs to do to achieve her goals in women's football.
"It's a huge joy, a truly indescribable emotion. I remember my first call-up, and it's never easy, but being there with my friends now will be fantastic. I want to seize this opportunity and represent Flamengo well there."
Nicolly Manuel: the center forward of the future
Her quiet demeanor off the field translates into determination and physical vigor on the field. A natural finisher and highly skilled, Nicolly came straight to Flamengo from Complexo da Maré and became a huge success, so much so that she spent only a short time in the training camp and was promoted to the U-20 team.
She was part of the Rio de Janeiro championship-winning squad, but only played effectively in 2025. She made her debut in the derby against Botafogo, leaving her mark on the competition, and scoring against Carapebus in the Copa Rio. She's an athlete who catches the eye of coach Filipe Torres and joins the national team with an eye for new experiences.
"It's hard to put into words how happy I am and everything that's going through my head right now. Work always pays off, and that's my daily goal. Every time I arrive for training, I give my best and only think about improving. I can't wait to get to the national team and experience this moment."
